 On the Push - A Surfer’s Guide to Climate Change - is a new 50 minute documentary film addressing issues around climate change in a coastal environment. It is available for screening in your community/school and also as clips on the internet www.onthepush.org.The film takes the viewer on a journey through Wales, Cornwall, Spain and Switzerland, meeting surf scientists and activists and asking key questions about the impact of climate change on the coastal environment. As part of this project, Welsh producer/directors, Helen Iles and Anne Gallagher will carry out an educational tour for young people aged 11-19, screening the film and running workshops in basic filmmaking. What would they like to say if they were given a platform to say it? Some of the screenings/workshops will be held in an innovative mobile solar cinema, which operates on renewable energy and is an ideal way to communicating the conservational message of the film.
